    Salient Features of  Pakistan Economic Survey 2021-22

The Ministry of Finance has  released the Pakistan Economic Survey 2021-22 on 09th June, 2022. Key features of the Economic Survey for the Financial year 2021-22 are mentioned below:

  • GDP growth has been estimated at 5.97% for Financial year 2022
  • Agriculture sector growth of 4.4%
  • Industrial sector growth of 7.2% in Financial year 2022.
  • Services sector growth by 6.19%
  • Exports estimated 27.8% to $ 28.8 billion
  • Imports grew 44.3% to $72.2 billion
  • Trade deficit  $43.3 billion
  • Remittances  $26.1 billion .
  • Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) $1455.6 million
  • Current account deficit stood at $13.8 billion
  • Total liquid foreign reserves exchange reserves stood at $15.2 billion
  • Inflation based on the consumer price index 11.3%
  • Tax collection Rs5348.2 billion
  • The fiscal deficit recorded 4.9% of GDP (Rs3,275 billion)
  • The primary balance (Jul-April FY22) posted a deficit of Rs890 billion

Tauheed
